Ok, today I'm going to write about different fat loss products, their benefits and downfalls. I keep getting mail about "What Fat Loss Products Work". Well, there are very few things that aren't scams. I have found 3 different fat loss products that are true to what they say. These products will help you lose weight and keep you in good health.

Workout Routine

Workout Routine

I know it's been a few days since my last post, so I'm going to show you a good workout routine. This workout routine is a good place to start for losing fat. First, you want to start exercising just 3 days a week. The best days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This will allow you Saturday and Sunday to heal. I know I said before that you need to change your workout routine every 6 weeks or so, but in the beginning you need to keep the same routine for about 3 months.

To start out you want to do 3 sets with around 2 minutes in between sets. You need to do about 10-15 reps for each exercise. Remember, the more reps the more long and lean your muscles will become. Less reps with heavier weights make you bulkier.
  • Abs - With abs you can do any of the exercises that I explained in earlier posts, or you can simply do crunches and sit-ups.
  • Chest - First, do some of the good ol' bench presses. Then do some dumbbell flyes. If you don't already know how to do them, lay flat on your back on a flat bench. Now, you need to take the dumbbells straight out at your sides (In line with your chest and arms very slightly bent at the elbow) and pull them back into your body (straight up into the air over your chest).
  • Back - Now, you need to do some military presses. With military presses you sit straight up and down against a 90 degree bench. Take a regular (straight) bench bar and push it straight up past your head until your arms are completely straight. When doing this keep your elbows straight in line (pointing down at a 90 degree angle) with your thighs and the bar in line with your throat. Repeat this in a simple up and down motion. Along with the military presses you need to do some barbell rows. Start by standing slightly bent over at a 35-45 degree angle and pulling a bench bar up to your sternum. Warning: this can be dangerous and cause back injuries, if not done right. If you think this may be too tough, then you can do deadlifts. Either lay on a flat or inclined bench and pull dumbbells or a bench bar up toward your chest area.
  • Biceps - Barbell curls are about the best bicep exercise there is. You can also switch out the barbell for some dumbbells if you want to change it up a bit.
  • Triceps - My favorite exercise is the lying triceps press (skull crushes). Lay flat on your back on a flat bench...take a bench bar with a close grip and bring the bar back to the top of the forehead, then press that in an upward motion. Try to keep your biceps completely still in a straight up and down fashion and only move your arm from the elbow to the hand area.
  • Legs - To start with just do some squats or leg presses. If you have access to a leg machine you should also do some leg extensions. Also, use that machine to do some leg curls. To work the calves you can do calf raises. Simply put a barbell on your shoulders and raise your heels off the ground and onto the balls of your feet.
These are all very easy and very basic exercises, but they can produce serious results. I also want to add some information about cardio. If you want to lose fat and not gain bulky muscles, then I would suggest doing about 20 minutes of cardio after your workout routine. If your goal is to gain a large amount of muscle then I would not perform any cardio at the end of your routine. Make sure to do only certain exercises on certain days...like on Mondays do Chest, Triceps and Biceps. Wednesdays do Abs and Back. And on Fridays do Legs only. Doing this will help you heal between sessions.

1. Diet Pills - First, you never lose the amount of weight they claim you can. These diet pills that you see on TV all the time, have a laundry list of bad side effects. Diet pills can cause digestive problems, heart problems, high blood pressure, stroke or even death. Please, if you are thinking of using any kind of diet pill, see your doctor first.

2. Cabbage Soup Diet - They claim you can lose up to 20 pounds a weeks! Most people who try diets like this will end up gaining back the weight, (if they lose weight), after they stop. Many people claim to have gained more weight after stopping the diet. Again, if you cannot find a healthy diet plan that works for you, then you need to see a doctor for evaluation and recommendations.

3. The Atkins Diet - The Atkins Diet may help you slim down quickly, but it is terrible for your health. This diet raises cholesterol by up to 20 points! That is a huge risk to your heart. Another similar diet is the South Beach Diet. This diet is also terrible for your health. These types of diet claim you need to cut carbs, but you should not cut out all of your carbs. You need to cut out bad carbs and take in good carbs.

4. Short Term Diets - Any diet that is meant to be short term is a bad idea. Along with gaining back the weight after stopping the diet, you can cause serious damage to your health. Dieting is something that should be a lifelong thing. You have to find a healthy diet and stay with it, not 2 weeks of dieting and that's it.

5. Laxatives - Yes, people use laxatives for extensive periods of time to try an lose weight. Using laxatives for a long period of time can cause intestinal muscle damage, deplete your body of key vitamins and minerals or even cause kidney failure.

These are only a few of the many "Worst Ways To Diet" that are out there. Remember, if it has big promises it is usually unhealthy. Anything that promises large amounts of weight loss in a short period of time is likely ineffective and unsafe. Also, fasting can be a great idea, but make sure you fast for 3 days or less...make sure to consult your doctor before any diet or fasting.

This is a list of some of the biggest weight loss mistakes. Most of these little mistakes turn into a big mistake. And most of us make these mistakes often.
  • Sleep - This is a very important part of being healthy, yet most of us sleep less than needed. Did you know that most athletes sleep up to 10 hours? It's true. When you sleep less than 8 hours on a regular basis your body causes glucose levels to rise. Glucose is a simple sugar that is a very important element to the body, but if you get too much you become fat. Glucose is a key part of the metabolism and if it starts to get out of sync it will change the makeup of your metabolism and how it deals with digestion. Also, you need to get on a regular sleep schedule where you are getting to bed before midnight. Around midnight is when cortisol levels are lowest and recovery is highest. Cortisol is active during the day and dormant at night. If you are not sleeping on a regular schedule you will gain belly fat because of the cortisol activity. Remember sleep can be everything.
  • Processed Food - Along with all the nasty fast foods out there, processed foods are very unhealthy to the mind and body. Things like the frozen dinners, bologna and chips are terrible for you. These foods have no nutritional values at all! All of this crap is missing the key vitamins and minerals you need. Most do not contain any fibrous materials at all. You need key vitamins and minerals to keep your body running.
  • Eating Too Fast - Try to eat slower to let your food digest and fill you up. If you eat slower you will allow your body time to tell you when it is full. This can be a big help with portion control.
  • Not Eating - You can not miss key meals, or starve your body. When you stop eating it causes your body to go into survival mode, where it processes foods differently and starts storing fat in your body.
  • Healthy Balance - You have to be committed to exercising and eating properly, as well as keeping your mind sound. You can not exercise like a maniac and eat whatever. You will never lose weight this way. Do the proper exercises, eat the right foods and try relaxation techniques.
Along with these tips, remember to switch up your workout often. Change your exercises about every 3-4 weeks. This will ensure you that you are getting all parts of your body involved. This also causes shock to your body which will keep you from plateauing.

5 Ways To Get Rid Of Belly Fat

Today I'm going to post, what I believe, are the 5 best ways to get rid of belly fat. The 5 that I am going to describe are used by me personally. I decided to do a post on belly fat because it is one of the most common complaints of people overweight.

1. Ab Exercises - I know what you are thinking. You're joking, right? I'm not. Ab exercises, if done right, can give you that flat stomach you want. I will give you some tips on what exercises to do to flatten out your stomach.
  • Crunches and sit-ups - Do regular forward crunches as well as side crunches (For side crunches, put one hand behind your head and the other flat, straight out. Point directly to the left or right. Alternate between hands.) Now, do the crunches at an angle. If your right hand is behind your head, then crunch toward your left knee.
  • Side bends - While standing, hold a dumbbell in one hand and bend your body, either to the right or the left (depending on which hand you have the dumbbell in).
  • Standing Twists - While standing with a straight bar or broomstick (better with something that has weight to it) behind your head, resting on your shoulders, twist your torso from left to right. Also, you can do standing crunches with the bar. Twist down and to the left and right while looking at your feet.
  • Medicine ball circles - While sitting flat on your butt, take either a medicine ball or some type of weight and do circles from behind your head to around in front of you (straight out from your chest). Make sure to have you legs straight out and your back straight up and down.

3. Diet - Like I have mentioned before...you need to cut out sugar and eat a proper diet. Again, reduce the calories you are taking in. A proper diet will do more than take off that belly fat! A good diet will give you energy, better health and better looks.

4. Reduce Stress - This one is very important! When you are stressed your body releases hormones that will pack on the fat. These hormones really attack the belly area. Meditation or 10-15 minutes of alone time a day can greatly reduce stress. In those 10-15 minutes try to clear your mind and relax your entire body. Stay active and schedule activities everyday. Find something you really like and find time for that everyday. Try to find something that will allow you to be active.

5.Water - Yeah I know what you're thinking. You are probably thinking that it is not that important and shouldn't be on this list. Well, water does wonders for your body and I guarantee you if you drink more than usual you will start to lose that belly fat.

Weight Loss - Eating Tips


Last time I wrote about the three basic body types. Also, in my last post, I wrote about my apple fast and some other weight loss tips. In this post I'm going to show you some tips on eating, and what vitamins you should be taking. All of this will help you start getting the weight off! First, you have to stop eating at those fast food restaurants! You do not know what is in the crap they are serving you...you don't know if it is full of calories and fats or if it's healthy. The stuff that is put in all of this fast food is made to keep the food from going bad and spoiling. Sounds great, right? Wrong! All of that stuff is building up in your heart, colon, liver and everywhere else! You need to start cooking at home, all the time. When you cook at home you should stay away from all the butter and other fattening cooking ingredients. Stay away from fried foods and start steaming and baking your foods. Start eating fish, fruits, veggies, beans, nuts etc... I know, it doesn't sound the greatest but if you get some good recipes, then you can make it taste more gourmet. Another thing to remember when cooking are portion sizes. A couple tips for eating the right portions: Never eat from a bag! When you eat from a bag you will over eat every time. You shouldn't be eating anything like chips anyways. Also, if you can, under cook. Do not cook enough to let yourself overeat. Now, I'm going to address the situation with drinks. Bad drinks include pop, beer and any type of juices that are made with artificial ingredients. Good drinks include water, real juice and wine. When I mention wine, I mean in small amounts. Not a whole bottle! Drinking plenty of water each day can help you cut back on your hunger as well as flush your system. Water is extremely important to weight loss and staying healthy. Now, on to the vitamins. First, you need to take a multi-vitamin. A multi-vitamin helps fill the gaps where your food and liquid intake is not giving you sufficient vitamins. This will make you have more energy as well as help with your weight. Also, Vitamin B (if not already in the multi-vitamin). Vitamin E will give you the antioxidants that you need. Antioxidants = all around better health. Vitamin A is an all around vitamin. This vitamin does it all. One last thing before I go. Make out a good workout out routine and hang it somewhere where you have to look at it everyday. This will help you keep up with your exercise. Also, try to make your workouts fun. This can be hard to do, but if you can, it will help you to stay with your routine. Remember, when exercising do a larger amount of cardio than weight lifting. While weight training, you should use smaller weights and do more reps to gain a more lean body. But if you want to pack on the muscle then you just use larger weights and less reps. Lose Fat - First Steps To Weight Loss


OK, I'm going to jump right in and start by telling you about the three basic body types...these body types are important if you want to learn how to lose fat and find a suitable diet. The three basic body types are Endomorph, Ectomorph and Mesomorph. Losing the fat, finding the right diet and obtaining that lean body often depend on what type of body you have. Now, a quick explanation of what these body types are and how they work. Endomorphs are characterized as having the most trouble losing body fat. Weight loss is a constant struggle for the Endomorph, they tend to have more body fat, lower motivation and a slower metabolism. Endomorphs have a round physique with a flabby body, wider hips, big waist and high number of fat cells. The best way for Endomorphs to lose fat is to eat lower calorie foods, more carbs and perform low intensity but high duration physical activity. Also, Endomorphs should regularly eat fruits and vegetables, as well as other low calorie foods. The Endomorphs diet should be (approximately) more than half carbs, 35% protein and about 10% fats. Now, an Ectomorph is characterized as being skinny with an overly fast metabolism. The Ectomorph has problems gaining fat and muscle, not losing it. And last, the Mesomorph is characterized as having everything we all want! They are muscular and fit in all aspects of their body. Since Ectomorphs and Mesomorphs aren't fat we won't focus too much on these body types. But if you are one of those body types, stick around because I'm sure there is information here that can help you with your fitness needs. So, back to the Endomorph body type and how to lose weight. Some exercises that you can do to start getting the weight off and keep it off. Start out slow and do not over train! Walking is a great place to start, or even jogging. One of my personal favorites is the punching bag...not only are you getting a good cardio workout, but you are also taking out frustration and relieving stress! These are only a few of many, but you see where I'm going with this. More cardio less weight! Another thing I like to do from time to time is go on a fast. I do an apple fast where I drink only water and eat only apples for three days. And No Cheating! No other foods like snack cakes or fried chicken! You can do this and eat a few more foods with your apples, but I would limit the other foods to things like grapes or other similar fruits. Fasting with only apples is good because it soaks up all the pollutants and flushes your system. You will get clearer skin and lose about five pounds in those three days!
